The Women in Finance Charter is a pledge to achieve gender balance across the Financial Services sector.
It is a commitment by HM Treasury and respective signatory firms to implement steps that build towards a more balanced industry. To this day the most senior and high-paying positions in Finance are still overwhelmingly occupied by men, and the industry as a whole is underrepresented by women.
Signatories of the charter understand the need for balance across all levels of the financial services sector and recognise the need for organisations within the UK to take measured steps towards achieving gender equality.
Supporting organisations and companies are committed to facilitating the progression of women into senior roles both internally and across the UK financial services industry in general. Each signatory sets its own targets and publicly reports on their progress, recognising the need for transparency and accountability needed to drive real progress.
EdAid was founded on the principle that access to education should be universal, and financing should not be a barrier to economic empowerment.
We are committed to conducting business in a way that upholds our fundamental beliefs and values. That's why we are proud to be a founding member of the HM Treasury’s Women In Finance Charter. As a company that strives to be the human face of finance, we understand the importance of mirroring our values of transparency, diversity, and empowerment in everything we do.
EdAid strongly values its commitment to the Women In Finance Charter and is proud to report that it has exceeded its internal targets year on year.
We have committed to achieving a minimum of 50% female representation within senior management, which we have defined as being vertical lead roles and above. We have consistently exceeded this target, with a current 55% representation rate within these roles. We will also be expressing an indefinite commitment to maintaining a 50% or above female representation rate in the future.
Our commitment to diversity does not cease with senior-level roles. EdAid continues to have a female representation rate within all roles at 45% in 2024.
